At HMS the summer months are invariably our busiest period. With warmer, drier days (mostly!) this allows for optimum resin based product application, with many different schemes being completed recently.

Private Property, Leicestershire:
This large scheme comprising of over 500m² has been completed in rural Leicestershire in recent weeks, after suffering slight set-backs of two weeks worth of torrential rain! Luckily our clients were understanding of the limitations of laying polyurethane products in wet weather, and were happy to wait until the rain cleared to ensure the best possible outcome for their installation. Finished in contemporary Golden Amber, the Decra®Set compliments the ironstone of this historic building perfectly.

Private Property, Watford:
HMS has been working directly with the homeowner of this imposing modern development for over 12 months, from design stage to completion (pictured). The base construction for this project involved concrete decks shuttered with movement joints to prevent cracking, which needed to be mirrored using specialist foam filled expansion profiling fitted into the resin bound paving material. This specialist material has a movement range of up to 30%, and can be colour-matched to all the decorative aggregate blends in our range! Over 250m² of Silver Grey Granite was chosen to match the ultra-modern look of this contemporary build!

Lancaster Road, Leicester:
HMS is currently working on a large scale extension of the cycle-network which covers a huge part of Leicester’s city centre. This particular section runs through historic Victoria Park, starting adjacent to the War Memorial, opening up this new area to cyclists, and allowing safer demarcation for pedestrians and other park users. The Rustic Red finish of the porous, SUDS compliant Decra®Set paving matches in with the red tarmac in other areas of the cycle network, creating visual continuity for cyclist, whilst maintaining water and air circulation through the soft landscaping area of the park.  Works will continue for the next few weeks, with a total of over 2,000m² of surfacing being installed within this section alone. Leicester City’s cycle initiative will continue to see further expansion of the cycle network in coming months.

Koi Carp Specialists, Leicestershire:
Regular readers of our blog will be in no doubt about the popularity of our surfacing products for driveways and footpaths, but our resin bound and resin bonded paving has many less obvious uses… like surfacing around specially designed Koi Carp tanks at a dedicated breeding centre and Koi nursery near Leicester! With plenty of water being sloshed about (by some MASSIVE fish…) our permeable resin bound paving is the obvious choice for maintaining a clean, dry and safe surface for staff and visitors to this specialist aquatic centre.

We’ll continue to make the most out of the remaining summer period, with lots more projects planned for the coming weeks!
